Lol, my character at the moment has a LOT of specialized powers. However, I really wasn't trying to make him powerful or anything, they just simply fit his character. I could have 100 powers and I'd still probably lose to some youngling because I played too fair lol!

Here we go, I have yet another question. So, if a Jedi Knight becomes a Master through Trials rather than through the successful training of an apprentice, do these Trials have the same basis as the Knight Trials. To clarify, is there still a Trial of Skill, Flesh, Courage, and Spirit? Or is it completely different?

Ah, I do recognize that quote. I must've looked into this a while back. Kinda leaves it up for interpretation but I'll make the best of it. I think I know what I'll do. Thank you!

Lol, I've yet another question. They just keep coming. So, must a Jedi Shadow wield a double-bladed lightsaber? According to Wookieepedia I believe this is so but I was wondering about any possible exception or if this site actually abides by this.

No. Your Jedi can have any type of lightsaber that is allowed on the site so long as it is reasonable for the character to have is (training wise and all that).

Heyo I have a Q. I'm trying to write a dark jedi character, and to sum it up in a nutshell he only gets to train for around ten years, and only about six of them does he get any sort of lightsaber training. So I guess my question is what kind of stats would appropriate for him? Like, how good at any one lightsaber style could he be at this point?

The general guideline staffers go by around here is one point per every two years of training in that style. Naturally the more saber focused characters can have more, while it's expected more Force focused ones tend to have much less.
Make sense?

question, are specialized lightsaber techniques and force powers allowed as long as they dont violate the forbidden list? Also, are sith lords need to be earned in character sort of thing? or can they just be explained in history?

If it's stock, you can use it freely. Generally customized variants are for individual characters though, so it's best to ask if possible.

Hey all,
Brand new to the site, not to RPing. I have some questions, some of which will be me asking for the opinions of people experienced on the site, others are just clarification.
I want to apply for two characters simultaneously. They are twin brothers. Both are discovered by the Jedi and all the good stuff. One will fall. My first question is opinion: would it be easier to write and apply for the character as a Dark Jedi (as in, write him as if he is already doing his Dark Side thing) or apply as a Jedi and play through the fall?
The second questions I have would be about Masters and such. If I chose to write a character as a Padawan, would I need to find an existing character and ask him/her to be my character's Master? Or would I simply write the Master as a sort of NPC?
Finally (I hope), as twins at the Jedi Temple, would they even be allowed to know each other? As brothers? And if they had an older sibling also in training (and this is hypothetical and not guaranteed to be part of the backstory) would they be made aware of him/her?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Alright NitroGatsby , I'll do my best here to help. Welcome to SWU, hope you'll enjoy yourself here. Generally we recommend people start with one, and once they've been active and feel they can handle another make more. However there's no rule against it. I see you're going for the classic 'twins! one dark! one light!' theme, one more than a few people have attempted on SWU before . For our story progression, you'd want to make both/either character at the age you wish to explore them the most. Time moves pretty slow in game, so dun expect a quick padawan-> knight-> master progression. Given there's ALWAYS more apprentices apped than knights/masters, we're usually pretty fine with you having an NPC character as a master. What we really recommend, is to create said character as they're taking their trials or having just passed them. Ultimately up to you, at the discretion of your reviewing moderator. The Jedi of our era would most likely separate them as early as possible, sending on child to one temple and the other to another. There are a handful of temples with academies around the galaxy these days, and either could get raised at any of them. See the Jedi and SWU notes for the complete list. Same goes for the elder sibling.

Are we allowed div table styles for writing our posts in? I'll put an example of one that I made on another site. It's what I'm used to, would that be alright? e.g. name name Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Vestibulum quis consequat tellus, ac facilisis erat. In hac habitasse platea dictumst.
Donec sed lacus a odio mollis fringilla.
Quisque mollis purus elementum urna eleifend dapibus. Nunc velit tellus, condimentum id odio ac, hendrerit finibus urna. Vestibulum molestie lectus vitae enim auctor, eget malesuada diam mollis. Morbi nec tellus sodales, rhoncus nisi vitae, ultricies urna. Aliquam erat volutpat. Nulla sem dolor, dignissim in sagittis eget, pretium et libero. Curabitur metus augue, sagittis eget dignissim auctor, mollis eu eros. Ut et dapibus augue. Suspendisse at lorem ligula.
