What's the status on Hapes from the moderator's perspective?

As far as I know, from The Courtship of Princess Leia and a few other books, Hapes until about 800bby was a pirate civilization based in the Cluster. They got wiped out by the Jedi [unless I'm miss-remembering].

Has it already happened? Is it going to happen? Can I make it happen if not? Where do we stand on that oh gods of the sim?

There's not a whole lot on Wookieepedia for our time period, but as far as I can tell, Hapes is a forgotten system, with just the females taking over.

In 4,100 or so BBY, most of the pirates were killed by Jedi.

And then in 3,100 (after our timeline) the Queen Mother sealed the borders.


So I would think that it would not be playing a huge role in our storyline.

Just a quick query for any moderators who happen to be reading this.

I would like to set up a little backstory RP with Makiro and a small number of other similarly-aged younglings. However, owing to the fact that the only backstory board is set 10 years ago - when most of us would be little more than toddlers - it is proving to be somewhat difficult.

Would it be at all possible just to post it in the Jedi Temple section and lable it as a backstory or something similar - as really we only want it to take place a year or so ago?

Well, do you simply just want your characters to have previous knowledge of each other?

Get together with the members of the characters you would like, and just write each other into your bios, perhaps.

Since the Blast from the Past board isn't so active yet, I would be hesitant to create another similar one.

Well, we wanted it to be a little more than just knowing each other - as we were looking to play out a few events. However, if you would be dubious about this, I am sure we could find another way around it.

actually mara....that's a good question, since...*cough*....I have an idea for a past thread as well that would take place further than ten years back. >_>

maybe the board should be changed to one where the threads are meant for ANY past thread OVER two or three years ago?

But, I can think about it--we could add in sub-boards for blast from the past for different times.

But, like I said, it's not getting much use right now, so I don't see the reason for it.


I suppose for now... you could always RP the events in flashbacks, Makiro? Maybe the group of you are together and something comes up that makes you remember the earlier event? And make sure things match in your bios.

I will certainly mull this over, though.

Okay I started working on a possible Dark Jedi character I have...but another thought came to my mind to where I'm thinking about scratching that one and bringing in a very old character I've had for a long time. I really want to play this character as a Dark Jedi Master, I'm not going to be fighting for control of the Sith or anything like that, in fact this character is sort of anti-social and doesn't really like other force users.

But the question I'm asking is I've never really made a bio for this character before, I've just used Roleplay posts to do it on one of my old rps, basically it's a collection of short stories that describe everything about the character, why he's so powerful, etc. Would it be alright if I maybe posted the links for these stories in place of typing up a bio? It would be a far more interesting read for whoever is approving the app in my opinion and would be a hell of a lot easier on me since I am a very lazy type of person. Anyways let me know what you think.

Well in all honesty, while I do like a good length bio...I don't really want to read through everything your character has done. That would be like me going through every Thread and Post a character has made on here and trying to grade that. So I would rather you make a bio...and in all honesty if your lazy then take your time and make the bio slowly.

I have a query about my bio for Makiro. Namely: How far am I allowed to make alterations once it has been approved and I have begun to RP as the character?

My reason being this: I decided that I would like my two Nabooan characters to be linked by family, and so I made a minor change by including the name of Makiro's mum as Avirod's sister (if that makes sense). However, I have changed my mind quite considerably about how I wanted Makiro's early past to play out.

The changes I would like to make are as follows:

Born to a moderately wealthy Nabooan merchant, Ruwee Variyas, Makiro lived the first few years of his life in luxury. He and his family often travelled from their townhouse in Theed to his grandparents’ house in one of Naboo’s traditional mountain villages.

Born to a practically impoverished Nabooan teacher, Ruwee Variyas, Makiro lived the first few years of his life in relative hardship. He and his family often travelled from their small home in Theed to his grandparents' house in one of Naboo's traditional mountain villages.

As you can see, these are some pretty major changes to his early life. However, I do not feel that they will in any way affect the way I am currently RPing. So, would I be able to make these changes?

I believe you can edit it whenever, just make a new post in the bio to inform it has been revised and needs to get re-approved.

Yep.

We all edit our bios after our characters have been in an important event or such. It's good to keep updating things that happen.


But if you change something before the present time, I would still make a note in the thread, just in case a mod wants to review it over again.
