I dunno, i personally like the idea of a memory wipe. I knew this one anime where they did the memory for a bunch of young girls they trained to be assassins. Like the assassins can slowly have flashes of their actual past, and after they escape they may try to track down who they really were before they were assassins.
The spartan way is badass too, so it doesn't really matter to me XD

I think that having the chemicals and the tough training/upbringing should definitely be in. And as for memory wipe, I personally think it should be machine. I'm with trying to stay away from Force using as much as possible, since sometimes that can be on rocky ground. So, yeah, enhance body the spartan way and let's drill teh memories away. >3
Agh, I still need to add you on my IM. >_> Look out for that.
And... I suppose I'm in. I must really, really love writing. xD

I'll possibly join in if this works. Sounds pretty good, Jenno.
And I like the idea of getting kidnapped as a young child and put into forced training for their life like the spartans. But if that was the case, they'd make better supersoldiers than assassins.

I'm with the chemical enhancements as well. Personally, I don't like the idea of use of the Force for memory wiping, either. Because that will take a bit of explaining why Force-user is even doing it, and then it will also take a bit of explaining why it's wearing off. On top of which it would be sort of be out of place what with how they're being trained, anatomically manipulated - it's pretty much all technology based, and then they used the Force to wipe their memories? It just doesn't flow well, imo. I like Tal's idea with something like a chip in their brain or something that suppresses/manipulates their mind and wipes their memory, because it is something that be damaged or wear off with time if something should happen like a mission gone wrong, or something went haywire while they were being routinely memory wiped leading to their escape.

Perhaps rather than unlock memories of their past (especially if they are to have been trained from birth) they begin to unlock genuine emotions like remorse and free will and then escape.
I would be interested in being part of the Assassins still loyal to the company and hunting down the ones who aren't. While his loyalty appears steadfast and solid, the more he tracks his brothers and sisters is the more he realizes that there may be merit to their thoughts.

I think jenno did plan on using the idea of feeling emotions after a period of Time... But I do like that Idea

Yeah, I was actually thinking the same thing, CK. But now, I'm thinking that the char I'll make who is still loyal to the company and hunting the escapees did regain her memories/emotions back all along, it just appears like she didn't, and still serves the company out of her own twisted sense of whatever... I haven't thought that far along, yet. ;D Basically, like the killer sociopath they trained/made her to be, she had always been as part of her natural personality. Such crazies do exist.

*sighs* The coolness of this prospect has drawn me towards it like a moth to the bug zapper. >.> hopefully I don't turn out like the moth... all crispified and tast- I mean gross. *blinks* ohh, y'all are reading this.. right... moving along.
Anywho... I am considering making a character for this. Probably all coolified with all kinds of little gadgets and no-how with all those shiny do-hickies and mo-bobs. *blinks* oh, now I am ranting. Thats a first >.>
For what its worth, I like the "taken at young age/mind whipe via machine" idea. That way you can explain why its wearing off. Also: I vote we do the SPARTAN thing... I mean... asdlfjadslkgsghjoewnnvalks;dujt erm, right, sorry. My head exploded at the awsomeness of the idea.
edit: yup, I will prolly be making a charactar. Though I dunno what I will do... T_T probably de-activate one, hopefully not though.
CURSES. Jennos already has made my mind come up with an idear. Now it must come to fruition or he will constantly bother me until my head explodes >.< Raaargh!

What're the current thoughts? I'm too lazy to read through the thread past the first post. ;D
Anyway, I could only do an NPC, sadly. But if one is needed... I might be able to whip something up. (After my senator, my other NPC... and my new fringer...)

I, like many other people, would rather have the spartain-like upbringing. Ie: taken from a young age, given crazy good training (each given their own specialization, maybe?), genetic/body enhancements (I think the steel plated bone thing would be cool ), and the mind wipe. Though, what I don't like, is the chemical to supress emotions. I dunno... something just doesn't strike me right on that front. I would much prefer a chip or something to suppress said emotions, it would be considerably cheaper for the company that way (they wouldn't have to buy chems. every so often) and it would be considerably more plausible for one to fail. They could, say, run through a magnetic field or something of that nature? lol. Now, onto my own little cerebrations on the matter... I like the military words for letters idea, (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta), but what if the assassins had something more personal to call each other? I mean... I know that they are supposed to be heartless killers... but so where the clones in the clone wars. In other words, am thinking that maybe they could have nicknames. Like Delta (I wants that name >3), would also be called something like "Rex" or "Sev" or something like that. I dunno. Just a thought.

I myself would love to join in this plot if it weren't for the fact that i don't think my writing skills are up to snuff. I wouldn't want to degrade the awesomeness lol, i'd be more then happy to rp as Xander with any number of them though. Also, the spartan upbringing etc etc sounds like the best option.

The info's going to come from the plot discussion group when I can get all of them or most of them together (once I ask the last few). Then I'll most likely put up a list of the 26 and their specific gender. I think that we should probably see who wants what and keep a note of it as well, so folks can call them before they start working on the bio etc (don't start calling or working on them now, only when I post up the list).
And Dire, I think nicknames between them wouldn't really go since in their normal state they're pretty much empty of emotion and any real drive/purpose (hence why this is somewhat a roleplay of discovery for them) and nicknames are a thing of closeness and familiarity and also individuality, which is something the company would want to avoid.
It could perhaps be something for once they have begun to develop their emotions and sense of self. That could turn out to be amusing to rp.

What you could do, I think this is what happened in the Halo books (never read them but I heard someone talking about them), is have the kids be orphans. The company goes off to random orphanages (I'm sure there are some in Star Wars?) and then they 'pay off' the owners to get specific kids. They chemically mutate them into their little super-weapons/wipe their memories with chemicals. Voila, 26 BAMFs.

I want in.
