When Alindra suddenly pulled away, Kvothe feared that he'd messed something up. What that might of been, there was no saying. Love was a confusing thing, and the maze of laws and rules that defined it were both alien and daunting to the young man, and part of the reason he'd been stepping so gingerly. But, as he grabbed the berries before Alindra hauled him off, it became apparent that his brief worries were unfounded. No, she had something else in mind. And when he caught a glimpse of her expression, he felt an echo of it grow on his own face.
They stopped outside of what could only be Alindra's room, and had one more kiss; a kiss that flowed with passion, and of the desire they shared for each other. And then they went into her room.
As they were there, in that place where no one else could see, their passions grew. And as the night went on, Kvothe knew, without a doubt, that Alindra was his, as he was hers.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Streams of light found Kvothe's face the next morning. He stirred, and opened his eyes to see that he was in Alindra's room. She was next to him, and still sleeping, as far as he could tell. He smiled at the sight of her, and as the memories of the night before came back into his mind. And here I thought I wouldn't find anything on this world.
No, Ruusan had been kind to him, he mused as he eased up and went to go about dressing himself. He'd found adventure, he'd found those crystals. As he was buttoning his shirt back up, he paused, and turned to look at Alindra again. Greatest, and most unexpectedly of all, he'd found love. If there were any doubts about that before, they were gone now.
Of course, today was a new day, and with it would come new things. What those things might be were beyond him. He'd wait on Alindra to awaken first before going off anywhere. If nothing else, they could pick up the their things from the tanner.

Her eyes started to open, but resisted. Alindra was not a woman filled with dreams or bliss, but she felt something of both. The beating of her heart had grown slow as she slept, just as her breathing had declined once she couldn't fight exhaustion any longer. She slipped in and out of a waking state, only wanting to sleep and cuddle.
When the light came, creeping through the windows, it made gentle rays that matched the strands of her loose hair. For once, she didn't care that she was a mess, it felt good and incredible. As he eyes opened fully, she saw exactly what she wanted looking back at her.
"Kvothe." The sound of Alindra's voice was little more than an whisper. An exhaled breath in the dawn, something only to be heard by two hearts and nothing more. She smiled her joy at seeing her companion nearby. Her heart felt more than happiness at the sight of her lover. "You're here."
Then she dared to sit up, wondering just what the day might hold.

He was fighting with the button on the cuff of his sleeve, grumbling about how he couldn't wait to be back in his robes, when he heard her stir. He paused, and when he looked to her, she was there, looking back at him. For a time, it was as if the only sound he could hear in the room was that of his own heartbeat, as everything else but her faded away from his attention. She whispered his name, and he smiled. Smiled at the sound of her, at the way the sun's light played in the strand of her hair, or at that wonderful green in her eyes.
"That I am," he said softly, as he went back to trying to force the button on his sleeve through the hole it was supposed to go through. "I trust you slept well?" He continued to fight the button, not at all helped by the fact that he had to use his left hand to try and wrangle it through, when he was right-handed. Unfortunately, the strings that held the button to his sleeve gave out, and he sighed in irritation as he watched it fall to the ground.
"Damnable things," he muttered, starting to roll his sleeves up to the elbow as he'd had them the night before. "Anyway, it seems we've reached a new day, though I can't say I know what it will hold." He stood and moved around the room, picking up his shoes. He looked at her again, and offered a smile. "There's only one way to find out, though. If you wish, I can head down to the lobby, to allow you some privacy while you prepare to head out?" Truth be told, he didn't want to leave her side, but, if she wished it, he would. If he had to, it would only be temporary, anyway.

"Wait here or outside," Alindra said. She held a sheet close to her body and sat up. With a sweep of her left hand, she cleared the hair out of her face. "I don't mind, either way."
Alindra offered a smile as she started to get up. Kvothe's presence didn't bother her. He was still a new commodity to her, but much closer than he'd been before. Something of him was in her, running through her veins, letting her feel a slight morning chill.
It didn't take her long to spot where she'd put her clothes. Falling back to the dress she'd been wearing wasn't a good idea. It was still new and she didn't want to damage it, so it was back to her standard wardrobe, black and red, flexible and comfortable, a proper wardrobe for a Sith moving around, ready for trouble.
She gathered her things, stashed her lightsaber, and headed downstairs. "You know," Alindra said to Kvothe, "I could use some breakfast."

Kvothe simply stayed where he was and busied himself with putting his shoes on while he waited. He happened to look up when Alindra stood. His lips turned up at her smile, and he felt his cheeks warming just a tad, and went back to finishing his own preparations.
"Ah, lucky you," he said when she was finishing with her attire. "You had a change of clothes." He snorted a laugh as he stuck his arms into his vest and went about buttoning it up. "If I'd known I would be here all night I would have brought my robes, rather than being stuck in this with its buttons all day." His eyes shifted as he spoke, from hazel to green, with the little silver threads that appeared when he was in some sarcastic mood. Those bits of silver faded away, though, as his mind returned to the night before, to the time he'd spent with her. "But I guess it's not bad, right?"
He followed her out and down to the first floor when they were done. He ran his hands through his hair as he walked, trying to give some sort of sense of order to it--not that it was usually very organized--rather than leaving it the mess that sleeping left it. His efforts only had moderate success, but it was enough for him.
Alindra caught his attention with mention of breakfast. "I'm glad I'm not the only one." He was hungry, especially after not really eating much the last night. "I'm assuming a place like this would have somewhere to eat, right? Or would you rather go back out into the city?"

"Of course I had a change of clothes." Alindra laughed. "We were in my room. If it had been your room, I'm sure we would have the opposite problem. Besides, it gives you and excuse to go shopping if you want."
They walked together, almost hand in hand, but it suited neither of their personalities. Alindra wanted to stay close and did so, though she also kept her hands free in case she needed them. The people walking throughout the lobby, most wearing nice suits, robes, or gowns, they were all easygoing. Alindra didn't see any threats among them, nor did she feel danger coming from them.
"I'm sure we could get something to eat here. My only thought is what are you going to do about Fas? I'm sure he's hungry too, right?"

Fas. In getting so wrapped up in the events of the night before, Kvothe had complety forgotten about his familiar, even with the connection they shared. That wasn't good. "Ah yes, I'm sure he's on the verge of tearing my ship up, especially since I didn't feed him last night..." Kvothe laughed sheepishly. "I didn't expect I'd be here all night, to be honest.
"Though, I'm going to tell you now, if we go back to the Masada to get Fas, you're going to have to wait on me for a few minutes, because this-" he made a gesture with his hands, indicating that he was talking about his attire, "-is coming off. I'd much rather wear my robes for casual dress." They were more comfortable too.
Kvothe offered a look around the lobby, and out to the sunlit street beyond before turning back to smile to his love. "I think Fas might deserve some fresh air and some food, though, after I left him alone all night. Don't you agree?"

Alindra nodded and touched Kvothe on the shoulder. "Go get Fas, get a change of clothes. I'll be right over here waiting for you." She kissed him easily on the lips, then walked to one of the restaurants and sat.
The table she was led to was covered by an awning, which kept it from being illuminated by the warm sunlight. Alindra ordered a juice, recalling the small berries that had come with her wine the night before. How far she could keep her little romance going, she didn't know.
She took the time to look over the people surrounding her. She would need a ship, at least that's what she'd come for. Something with a little size, enough to fit her and perhaps a few others. It didn't need to be a luxury liner, just something she could store her equipment and clothes in comfortably. If she had space, she could train while in transit from one location to another.
A couple of small ladies took their breakfast inside, eating very little and reflecting on times shared together. Perhaps they might have what I'm after. Alindra didn't even touch her juice as she watched and waited for Kvothe to return.

"Alright, then," Kvothe said, smiling from her kiss. "I'll be back shortly."
He paused as he left the hotel to look about the streets that were stretched out before him. Before, he'd never noticed the couples that walked this way and that, going about their business. But, now that he knew what it was like, he saw them. Some were young , like Alindra and himself, others were much older. Some walked hand in hand, others enjoyed casual conversation. All he did was smile, still feeling Alindra's kiss on his lips, and went off, toward the Masada.
A short walk and a few minutes found Kvothe standing before the vessel as the boarding ramp descended to let him up and into it. It wasn't hard to find Fas, now that he was thinking about their connection. The feline was on the main level, lounging in one of the corners of Kvothe's personal quarters. He was watching the door when Kvothe entered.
"Hey Fas, long time no see," Kvothe said as the door slid shut behind him. Fas didn't make any indication that he'd heard, and only stared, unblinking with his big amber eyes. "Look, I didn't meant to leave you here all alone last night. Didn't know I'd be gone all night, actually." Kvothe stripped down to the waist as he spoke before sitting on the end of his bed and carrying on with his undressing. "I found something last night, though--something I didn't know I wanted." He stood, and offered Fas a grin as he moved to grab his robes and start putting them on. "Maybe we'll find you a female flickercat when we get back to Aiaru so you can know what I'm talking about."
Fas stood, and went to sit near Kvothe. There was a bit of irritation coming through the bond, probably in part because Fas was, no doubt, hungry. "You'll have to forgive me though, big guy," Kvothe continued, leaning down to scratch Fas behind an ear, "but I have a tendency to run off and get caught up in things sometimes."
Kvothe was nearly finished dressing, and was pushing the red and gold armband he always wore up onto his arm when he emerged from the room. He went to get a bit of the food that was kept on board for Fas, so that his companion could eat, and went back to finish getting dressed.
The two of them emerged from the Masada a few minutes later, Kvothe with his staff in hand once more, and set off back toward the hotel. They arrived at it shortly after that, and Kvothe set out to find Alindra. It didn't take too long; he saw her sitting at a table under an awning. A smile played on his lips again as he headed off in her direction.
"We're back," he said, taking a seat next to her. Fas went to sit on the other side of Alindra, away from Kvothe. Kvothe only laughed at it, though. "I think Fas is still a bit upset at me, even though I fed him. Maybe if he's extra good he can have some leftover food."

The two women kept talking, their reminiscing seemed so aimless to Alindra. They talked about their husbands and their pets and parties, and gossip, gossip, gossip. Alindra took a drink of her juice just so she could fixate on something else for a while. She was starting to want to take a ship away from these two old birds just so they could have something else to talk about.
Kvothe returned, bringing Fas along with him. Fas even came to sit closer to Alindra than Kvothe. "I don't think leftovers will be enough," Alindra said, running her fingers through Fas' fur, especially around the ears. "I think my friend here would like something more substantial than scraps."
She eyed the old women again, shaking her head. Thoughts of violence started swirling in her mind. The question of how fast a lightsaber could cut through one of them kept dangling in her thoughts. Then she looked at Kvothe, looking at her, studying her in some way. There was a familiarity there, something viable and alive. Alindra had even given herself over to it, just like she'd given herself to her urges in the cave. Just as with the old women, she started to wonder what it would take to get things out of Kvothe, be it another night alone or something else. Not only did she think about turning him still, but she also accepted that she could fight him, drink his blood and become stronger.
But she didn't want that. Alindra wanted to be with Kvothe, not his killer. In fact, she wanted to join with him in such a way where they could kill together, conquer together. She would just have to bring more rage and violence out of him.
"Shall we have breakfast?"

Kvothe looked to Alindra once he was seated, and noted that she was looking off at something, back inside the building. Curiosity's icy blue played around the edges of his irises as he shifted, trying to see what it was that she was looking at. He shifted, trying to get a better view. Nothing, as far as he could tell; or only she knew what it was, rather, since nothing grabbed Kvothe's attention. Just some older women enjoying a meal together. He shrugged mentally and grabbed a menu.
Something in the Mythos tugged at his attention, and it came from Alindra. What it was, he couldn't say--not without prying, which was something he wasn't about to do--but it was there. Strange, he thought, sparing a glance up to her. His eyes met hers when she looked to him, and for a moment, they were arrested, looking at only her. Then she asked him about breakfast, and with a slight laugh, he went back to studying the menu.
"I think we shall." A certain drink caught his eye--a blend of juices from various local berries; it was all natural, which was something the Mythos only knew Kvothe needed after drinking alcohol. After a few moments, he'd made his choice: a sampler plate of sorts with a range of small portions of various offerings, from the eggs of some fowl Kvothe'd never heard of to a thin bread, topped with glaze from a few different fruits and some sugar. It looked good to him.
"Well, I'm ready whenever you are," he said, laying the menu down onto the table. He folded his fingers together idly and looked about, taking in the scenery around him. The old women inside came into view again, and once more Kvothe looked, thinking Alindra might have been glancing at something beyond them. But again, he didn't see anything that stood out as particularly attention-grabbing.
"Hey, was something going on inside a few moments ago?" Kvothe's gaze shifted back to her; his eyes were mostly blue, now that his curiosity was continuing to build "I noticed you looking in, but I couldn't see anything."

Alindra made her own order, making sure that it had a decent amount of protein, eggs and some sort of sausage mostly. It was meat and it would get her metabolism going. While she waited, she took the chance to pet Fas again, even though her eyes stayed with Kvothe most of the time.
The only visual distraction she allowed herself was to keep looking at the two old women sitting inside of the hotel. "No, nothing's going on. I've just been looking this way, letting my mind wander while you were gone." Then she looked again, making sure the old women stayed in one spot long enough to get a clue to what they wanted.
Her instincts were starting to make her impatient. She wanted to see what their ship might look like and make a grab for it. But that would mean leaving Kvothe behind and she wasn't sure her heart could take that reality, even though it had to happen at some point. She still liked watching those eyes, ever changing, she still let her eyes drift toward his hair.
"Aside from checking on the tanner, what else do we have lined up for today? I'm hoping no Exchange ambushes myself, but you might have a surprise for me." Alindra smiled, telling Kvothe that she wasn't looking for trouble, but she was still willing to face it with him.

"I can't say, really." Kvothe's posture loosened as he let himself lean back in his seat. One of his hands absentmindedly went to his staff, feeling the wood that had become so familiar over the years.
His gaze drifted back to Alindra, and then to Fas, who was looking at him in a way that almost seemed to be smug. Kvothe snorted a laugh and shook his head. He wouldn't be surprised if that was the flickercat's intention. Fas was intelligent; certainly not to the level of being sentient, but there was more to him than most knew.
"Then again, I can't say that I had anything in particular planned for yesterday, but it turned out to be an interesting little adventure. " Kvothe grinned openly when he looked a Alindra, and his voice became just a little mischievous. "And I'd hope the Exchange would know to back off, since they've had two of their ships shot down. That or we've just pissed them off." He shrugged, as if he didn't really care either way. If the Exchange tried to strike at them again, then they'd handle it. And if they didn't there wouldn't be a need to worry about it.
"Perhaps we should just start with the tanner and see where the Winds blow us." There was a bit of emphasis on the Winds, as, in the same way his order called the Force the Mythos, his people referred to it as the Winds. Kvothe sometimes switched to it, and he felt it fit for the moment.
"Unless, of course, you have something in mind?"

The satisfying taste of her meal passed, leaving Alindra ready to start her day. She finished everything off with a bit of fruit, something she picked up the few times she had a selection of food in the wild. Her heart beat steady, unlike the night before when it rumbled with more vigor than she'd ever felt.
And Kvothe was still with her. She liked being near him still. Aside from the biochemical motivations, Alindra felt a real bond with him, something she was learning about and building at the same time. She wanted to do more to build a stronger foundation, then make something of that foundation.
"Let's check out the tanner," she said, getting up. "I'm sure they're about finished with our request now." A new excitement joined with the rest of her, the notion of having a trophy, one she could wear into other battles, it made her feel closer to being complete.
She looked back at the old women again, knowing she would pay them a visit soon enough. Looking down at Fas, she crouched and looked directly at the flickercat. "I'm sorry about last night, Fas. Don't be mad at Kvothe too long. I distracted him more than you might think." Before she got up, she took another look at the old women, almost laughing at their lack of protection.
Alindra stepped close to Kvothe and kissed him on side of his mouth. "Come on, I think the wind's starting to blow this way." Then she smiled and started walking toward the tanner.

"She's telling the truth, you know," said Kvothe with a bit of a snicker as he wiped the last bits of stray juice from his fruit up with a piece of bread before popping it into his mouth. "I was her captive last night, held without hope in her thrall. It wasn't my fault." He laughed lightly as he stood, though, knowing that he'd gladly take the chance to be held in Alindra's thrall again, should it come up. Of course, he still was, in some ways.
He smiled at her kiss, and a chuckle sounded within his throat as he called his staff to him with the Mythos. "Well, then let's ride the wind and see where it takes us, yes?" Fas fell in behind him at a few clacks of his tongue, and the trio set off, into a new day.
The skies were clear and blue, and the streets full as people traveled alone or in groups to go about their business for the day. Fas got more than a few strange looks or eager pointing from children, much to Kvothe's amusement, though no one came up to look more closely at the strange feline.
"You know, Alindra, I don't think you ever finished telling me your story," Kvothe said, in an attempt to stir up some conversation. He strode easily alongside her, and turned to look at her with an amused grin. "I believe we were interrupted by some rather rude pilots last time you tried to pick it back up."

It was true, Alindra hadn't finished telling Kvothe the story of her past, how she came to be trained to manipulate the Force and embrace the fullness of its power through her dark urges. Of course she would have to be careful not to frighten Kvothe. It was important that he come to fully accept her, but it would be too much too fast if she said she was a Sith, immersed in the Dark Side, and committed to one day turning and training her sister as well.
"Remind me," Alindra said, putting a finger against her lower lip. "Where did I leave off?"
She didn't want to have two versions of her life running around. She didn't exactly remember where she'd left off in the telling of the story. Had she mentioned her encounter on the way to Dantoonie, the encounter where she turned the crew of the ship she was on into a sacrificial font, using their blood to anoint herself as a Sith.
It was a memory she thought about a lot. Many Sith lacked her true devotion. They were simply turned Jedi, weak in their convictions. Simple, unsatisfied creatures begging for direction. Alindra knew her direction was with her darker impulses. Her instincts had done were for her so far. She had Kvothe now and she had no desire to give him up.

"Hrm..." Kvothe rubbed the bottom of his tattooed chin, thinking back to the last he'd heard of Alindra's story. Fortunately, being trained to retain and recall large sums of information at will as a Mythic made it fairly easy. Well, easy to remember the last he'd heard, though she'd mentioned other parts of her story that Kvothe could only surmise came later, like her time in the wild.
"Last thing I remember you saying was about some Twi'lek, though you never said who he was." He brought his staff closer into him as they passed through a particularly thick group of people. "Other than that, you've mentioned your time in the wild, and some woman that you said trained you."His hand fell to his side again, hovering near her own, though he didn't take it, and he looked back to her as an icy blue grew around the edges of his eyes. He was curious to hear what other events had shaped Alindra's life, forming her into the woman she was today.

"Hey," Alindra said, grabbing Kvothe's hand. "You've got every right to touch me." She put his hand around her waist as they walked, blatantly making them look like a couple. "No one else has any right to do this." Alindra put her hand around Kvothe, completing the link. To anyone who looked at them, they would appear to be a couple, each half lost to the bliss of being around the other.
"As far as my story goes, I finally came back from the wild. I was fierce, almost feral, and much stronger than when I left. I suppose, you saw a little of that when we were in the cave. Even though I was glad to have come back to my family, something felt very wrong. I asked my parents about their parents; I wanted to know if they had ever shown any affinity for the Force. Two of my grandparents, one on each side, had been endowed with the Force. Both of them had even been passed over by the Jedi.
"It was at that moment, I realized how much I... how much I hated that everything had happened to me. It made me sick to think about my life and rotten it had been. I had nothing that was my own, not even a lightsaber. All I had was a family that was distant, kind, but distant. My sister was the closest to me, the sweet little genius that she is."
Alindra didn't mention that she didn't just hate her life, she also hated the Jedi. There would be no justice to her until she had exterminated them, made the great Order pay for not showing her grandparents the path of the Force. In Alindra's mind, if the Jedi would have trained her ancestors, her life would not have been so terrible, since she would have trained with the Jedi before the slavers could have taken her away.
The Jedi would die and Alindra would install herself as a warden. A benevolent dictator, a queen ruling from on high, her chief decree to have all with any bond to the Force trained as Sith, made wild and subservient to her will. Only then would things be right.

"It is unfortunate that so many bad things happened to you," Kvothe said softly as he eased his hand a bit to rest on Alindra's back. He looked around them, to the people that filled the streets, so walking so happy and carefree. Of course Kvothe couldn't know for sure, but he felt it was safe to assume that most of them hadn't lived a hard life; a life filled the sorts of pains that Alindra and Kvothe had experienced, though he knew that, even between them, their suffering had been different. In some ways, he envied those people. Adventures were well and good, as were gallant fights for what you believed in, but most of the ones Kvothe had been in left him nearly dead.
Yet, in other ways, he didn't envy them. A quiet life might be nice, but at the same time, he'd have probably been a weaker person because of it, both in terms of his power and his resolve. Perhaps it hadn't all been bad.
"But in the end, it made you a stronger person, right? Can't have a good sword without tempering the steel first." Kvothe allowed himself a laugh at that. "Or that's what they told me when I joined the ranks of the Swords back on Aiaru. I'm sure they thought themselves very clever.
"Anyway, I'm going to stop before I start running my mouth too much. You said you didn't have a lightsaber, though? Was this before you met the woman who trained you in the Mythos?"

"Before. Definitely before." How much to say? What will be enough? "I got this lightsaber from her, the old woman I met in the wilderness. She just turned up one day, trying to get me to run away. But I just wouldn't go, so she started trying other things. Like sneaking up on me while I slept or attacking with a lightsaber when I was wrestling hand to hand with a wild animal.
"Before I knew it, I'd learned how to control the Force. I could run faster, jump higher, hit harder. A few times, I unleashed a smooth little burst of the Force, which is how I figured out I could fight offensively with the powers the old woman found in me."
Alindra laughed, amused with her story. "Did you know that old woman was a rogue Jedi? She could have lived for years longer if she hadn't left them. Instead, she died in a cave. Her lightsaber given out on her in the middle of fighting wild animals." Alindra took out the weapon for a moment and looked at it. "I took this from her after I found her dead. I think she wanted it that way."
